EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

FAQs

We don’t overcrowd our boats. Although our boats can hold 30 people, we limit groups to 15–20 guests for comfort, safety, and a more personal tour experience.

Our El Nido island-hopping tour begins at 9:30 AM and includes five destinations. We spend 30–45 minutes at each stop and allocate one full hour for lunch. Travel between islands usually takes 15–20 minutes, depending on sea and weather conditions. Tours return to town between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

Our Coron island-hopping tour departs earlier, between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM, because it covers up to six destinations. Each stop lasts 30–45 minutes, with one hour reserved for lunch. Due to longer travel distances between islands, Coron tours also return between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

For our private tours in both El Nido and Coron, all taxes and entrance fees are already included in the total tour price.

For our shared tours, the entrance fees are included in the rate shown on our booking page:
https://www.apetours.ph/tours/

However, the Ecotourism Development Tax (EDTF) is handled differently for each destination:

In Coron: Guests are required to pay the EDTF upon arrival at the airport or seaport.
In El Nido: The EDTF can be purchased through any accredited tour operator, at the El Nido Tourism Office, or—if it is your first tour—we can assist you in securing it.

Yes, our tours are covered by commercial boat insurance as required by Philippine government regulations.
However, the insurance is limited. It typically covers only basic medical treatment and standard hospital care, and does not include extended or comprehensive coverage.

For full protection, we recommend that guests secure their own travel or medical insurance before joining the tour.

Yes. Both Apetours El Nido and Apetours Coron are fully accredited by the Department of Tourism (DOT) in the Philippines.

This means we meet official safety and service standards required for licensed tour operators.

In addition, all our boat captains and tour guides are professionally licensed, ensuring a safe, compliant, and high-quality island-hopping experience for every guest.

Yes, we offer Senior Citizen and PWD discounts, but these are available only to Filipino citizens. To avail of the discount, guests must provide a valid Senior Citizen ID or PWD ID at the time of booking, and the same ID will be verified on the day of the tour.

Please note that this discount cannot be combined with other promotions or special offers.

Yes, we offer special rates for children.

Kids 6 years old and below can join for free. Children ages 7 to 13 are charged 50% of the published rate, while guests 14 years old and above are considered adults and will be charged the full tour rate.

Yes, our tours are child-friendly, but the day can be long and hot for very young children. Because the tour includes deep-water swimming stops, parents must closely supervise their children, especially if they are not strong swimmers.

Our crew oversees overall safety, but they cannot focus on one child or family, particularly on shared tours.

Yes, non-swimmers can join. We provide life jackets and floating mats when available, and we choose snorkeling spots with minimal currents for a safe, comfortable experience.

Our tours can be a bit long and physically demanding, so they are generally not recommended for pregnant guests. However, if you feel comfortable joining, we’ll gladly have you on board—just provide a doctor’s medical clearance for your safety.

If you need to return to port earlier than planned, please note that any extra boat or transport fees will be at the guest’s expense.

El Nido Tours – Safe Meal Preparation by Our Government-Accredited Partner Restaurant

To protect guest health, the El Nido Tourism Office suspended all food preparation on boats starting July 1, 2023, due to increased cases of diarrhea and acute gastroenteritis (AGE).
Because of this policy, Ape Tours now serves meals prepared off-site by our government-accredited partner restaurant, ensuring safe, hygienic, and high-quality food for all guests.

Our El Nido menu includes a selection of meat, seafood, vegetables, and fresh fruits, all prepared following strict local safety standards.

Coron Tours – Fresh and Clean Meals Cooked Onboard

In Coron, meals are freshly prepared onboard by our trained chef/food handler, who maintains the highest standards of cooking and food safety.
Our Coron menu includes a variety of meat, chicken, seafood, vegetables, and fruits, ensuring a satisfying and well-balanced meal during your island-hopping tour.

Beverages Included

For both El Nido and Coron tours, we provide distilled or Mineral water and soda throughout the day.

If you have food allergies or dietary requirements, please let us know during booking so we can coordinate your meal with our accredited restaurant in El Nido or with our onboard chef in Coron.

Our tours have no additional fees, as all standard costs are already included.

However, we recommend bringing some cash in case we visit islands or stops where snacks, drinks, or optional purchases are available.

Tipping is appreciated but not required during our tours.

El Nido Private Tours:
We provide pick-up and drop-off services within designated areas in El Nido. Our booking officer will confirm if your accommodation is covered.

El Nido Shared Tours:
Shared tours include pick-up only within designated locations. Our booking officer will check if your hotel is within the pick-up zone and assist with arrangements.

Coron Private and Shared Tours:
All Coron tours—both private and shared—include free transfer arrangements to the jump-off point.

If your accommodation is outside standard pick-up areas, our team will guide you on the best way to reach the departure location.

We take photos of you throughout the tour so you can fully enjoy the experience and spend more time with your family.

For private tours, your tour photos are saved to a USB and released within 1–2 days.
For shared tours, photos are delivered via online drive within 3–5 days, depending on the volume of images.

Please be aware that due to intermittent internet connectivity and occasional power outages in some areas of El Nido and Coron, there is a small chance that certain photo files may become corrupted during transfer and cannot be recovered.

To maintain storage capacity, we delete photo files older than three months, so we strongly recommend downloading your images as soon as they are released.

We recommend traveling light. Dress for a beach day—swimsuit, rash guard, t-shirt, and flip-flops or sandals. Please bring sunscreen, a towel, and some cash for incidentals or tips.

If the destination includes snorkeling, we recommend bringing your own mask, snorkel, fins, and aqua socks for comfort and hygiene.

To keep the boat safe and spacious, large bags are not allowed. If you have luggage, we will securely store it at our office during your tour.

Towels are provided onboard, but you may bring your own if you prefer.
